Description

Built in 2014 by the British yard Tristar Boats Limited, based in Long Eaton near Nottingham, Pendragon is a Dutch-style steel barge. The yard designs and builds narrowboats and barges one at a time, for the British canals as much as for the continental waterway network, in deliberately compact dimensions that remain compatible with the entire European gauge.

The wheelhouse holds a single hydraulic steering position. The interior, insulated with polyurethane foam, is laid out as two double cabins and one shower room. The electrical system is doubled in 12 V and 220 V, with a Victron combined charger-inverter, a Sterling Power isolation transformer and two solar panels.

The 90 hp Beta Marine, keel-cooled with a dry exhaust, has run approximately 2,500 hours. Its oil and filters were changed recently, with only about ten hours of navigation since. A 6 kW Lewmar bow thruster, an electric anchor winch and a full winter cover complete the equipment.
