UK registered as a Small Commercial Craft under MCA as a category 0 licensed (World Wide Travel), MGN 280. Carries up to 15 people/passengers/crew (15 bunks). Carries a 10 ton cargo license. Last large 5 year inspection in 2023. Just passed First Year inspection in June 2024. Next inspection due in march 2025.
Grayhound is a unique newly built wooden ship with no leaks and not a drop of water onboard! She is built for what she does best - adventure charter, maritime festivals, carrying cargo and movie work. Since her build she has crossed the Atlantic twice, sailed to the Baltic, Mediterranean, Hybrides, North Sea, Biscay and more. She is a stable and tough ship and can sail in most weather. A lot of love and work has been invested in her during and after her build. For example she is built with ‘treenails’, ‘trenails’ or ‘trunnels’ - no metal bolts or screws in the hull under water. The life expectancy of treenails is 80–100 years, compared to metal fastenings which last about 25 years. She has been serviced out of water and inspected every year by Mecal inspection agency (MCA). She is a eye catcher anywhere she goes! She has currently a sailing program and will sail until new ownership.
