This vessel (Penelope’s Ark) has been in a 4-share partnership for 25 years.
The partnership is ending and the much loved barge is now for sale.
Specifications: British Registration SSR118415, Year 1905, LOA 13.77 m, Draft 0.9m, Beam 3.9m, Air Draft 2.8m.
The Engine is a very reliable 80hp Mercedes OM314 with a Borg Warner Velvet Drive Gearbox.
Fuel capacity 600 L, (2-3 litres ph) Water capacity 900 litres in 2 tanks.
The size of this barge is just right for a couple wanting a roomy cruising boat that is still small enough to use regular marinas and cruiser moorings.
A two-berth bow cabin is the main sleeping area, with two guest bunks near the galley which can be curtained off.
The barge is being sold with all equipment and furnishings. Kitchenware, cutlery, crockery, linen, tools and spares for everything, far too many items to list - basically everything you need to go cruising.
The barge has cruised extensively (in France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany) and has charts and guides for most waterways.
The hull was over-plated in 1997 and a hull survey has been booked and will be available soon.
The partnership has added value to the vessel each year and recent additions in the last three cruising seasons are:- a custom-made cockpit canopy with clears, a new gas water heater, a new bow thruster, new porthole rubber seals, a 3-way refrigerator, new lifejackets, a Victron battery charger and numerous other appliances.
New last year are 5 batteries (1 X 12v 145AH 800A and 4 x 12v 180AH 1175A). 2 bilge pumps, 1 main water pressure pump, an engine alternator, 700 Watt inverter and a Morse throttle unit.
The hull has been surveyed in Feb 2023 and the full report (all good) is available for anyone who requests it and will make getting insurance straight forward. The blacking below the waterline is being done this month.
