| Wanted canal boat, motorcruiser or will consider suitable converted small barge. Location in France, Belgium or Netherlands. Wanted for use on French canals by Australian buyer for next season 2011.
MUST have shower, plenty of storage and a spacious kitchen with adequate bench space and preferably an oven and grill.

THIS IS THE ONE that ticked all the boxes for us after years of searching everywhere for the right traditional boat to replace our beloved, but large, Dutch barge of 17 years. This one is the perfect size and spec for today's cruising and mooring conditions in France – being easily manageable, in very good condition, and with character, style and unpretentious quality.
‘Cadenza’ is compact with broad beam, nearly all one level (3 shallow steps in the middle), versatile accommodation with good headroom, well insulated, light & airy, with good visibility (for watching the water seated in the wheelhouse), shallow draft, (above and below water, making most waterways accessible), wide side decks for safe walking to and fro, flat roofs, ability to handle stern ropes from the safety of the cockpit (4 sq,m of sociable space leading from the wheelhouse on same level – making for easy access and communication fore and aft). Crafted in Holland to a very high standard several decades ago, the solid teak interior would be prohibitive to build today.
To assure a high standard and minimise future maintenance, the whole boat was sandblasted and repainted with International epoxy paintwork in 2007/8. New canopy and awning, and welded ladder rings on rudder. Efficient central heating system with new boiler, also new gas and water systems, and upgraded electrics.
Currently lying on the Yonne at Migennes, Burgundy, ready to go, and handily placed for the Bourgogne & Nivernais Canals.
Accommodation:
•Rear cockpit, with awning, zipped side panels and large windowed aft panel
•Saloon/Wheelhouse with table and L shaped bench seating (convertible to bed). Double glazed big sliding side windows. Down 3 steps to:
•U shaped seating with table, galley with 4-ring gas hob, 12v/220v/gas Electrolux RM4200 fridge & stainless steel sink set into teak worktop
•Walk-in store cupboard, microwave combi oven/grill
•2 small but comfortable single cabins with storage shelves
•‘Wet-room’ with curtained shower, wc and inset basin over large cupboard.
•Principal cabin with double bed, hanging and shelving storage
•Whole interior fitted with solid, high quality teak, and plenty of conveniently placed storage, as well as under all bunks and benches (newly upholstered).

•Ultrasonic survey 2007. Original 1895 riveted iron hull (with no overplating) and superstructure steelwork stripped to bare metal, new anodes fitted, and professionally painted in 07/08.
•Weight: 19 tons
•Registered in UK SSR 131602 (previously immatriculated in France with Permit de Mer with 5eme category, certified and equipped for sea use in 1999).
•Engine: 6-cyl 85hp Volvo Penta MD 40A. Transmission: Velvet AS5 70CR
•Water: c.750 litres Fuel: c.360 litres
•Avon & Optima gel batteries, Cristec 12v/30A charger and Xantrex monitor. Electrical circuitry and instrumentation upgraded 2009 (220v and 12v) plus 1100W Inverter.
•New gas installation, fully vented external gas storage, and alarm.
•Central Heating system with 6 rads and new Mikuni MX60 7kw heater, with Danfoss automatic timer.

TARPON 42 RECLA BUILT 1991 ,used as a hire boat till approx 2000 then sold to private owner, he started the refit/upgrade of this boat by replacing the engine gearbox ,drive shaft and propeller. the engine is a 165 hp 6 cylinder sole diesel. this has proved to be very reliable and economic unit, giving lots of power when needed but still returning good economy on rivers and canals. the rest of the interior of the boat has been changed from the concept of hire fleets,(get as many people in as possible, 12) to the present design, confort and space for the owner and visiting friends. so this boat now has one grand cabin with walk around double bed, fitted wardrobes and cupboards on each side, second smaller guest cabin, and pull out double bed in grand salon area. there is a fully fitted kitchen/dining area at the front of the boat .seperate bathroom with toilet (masserator) shower and hand wash basin. |
